Diamond Jubilee

From June 2nd till June 5th you can enjoy beautiful Diamond exhibitions at different venues in London. The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee as it is called, celebrates Queen Elisabeth as she has been the British monarch for 60 years.

Diamond Jubilee in LondonThere will be events in Hyde Park on June 2nd and 3rd, and here families can enjoy activities and also see live Disney shows. Other stars such as Thomas the Tank Engine will also show up in the park.

One June 3rd people show also be along the River Thames between 14.00 and 17.00. More than thousands boats are expected to be on the river, starting from the Battersea Bridge and ending up by the Tower Bridge.

On June 4th there will be a special event in the Buckingham Palace. This is a concert featuring Shirley Bassey, Alfie Boe, Jools Holland, Jessie J, JLS, Elton John, Tom Jones, Lang Lang, Annie Lennox, Madness, Paul McCartney, Cliff Richard and Ed Sheeran.

As you can see there are lots of things happening, so do not miss out on the events suiting you and sounding interesting.

Chelsea Flower Show

If you like flowers and would like to see what claims to be the largest flower show in the world, you better hurry up and come to London to check out the Chelsea Flower Show right now. The flower show takes place at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, and here you can see grounds transformed into show gardens, inspirational small gardens and vibrant horticultural displays. And these grounds are what make up the world’s most famous flower show. More than 150,000 visitors check out this festival every year, so you should not expect to be alone as you visit the Chelsea Flower Show, but that is just giving it even more atmosphere. It feels almost kind of similar to visiting Keukenhof in Holland each year in the tulip season.

With Spring just around the corner, or some might say that it has already arrived, there are plenty of activities to enjoy in the beautiful city of London. A walk along the Themes in itself is a beauty, and maybe especially in the evening. If you are a bit lazier, than a river cruise might suit you even better. If you are interested in football, then the Premier League is closing up, so why not check up on your favorite team in London and maybe visit the majestic arena for the Arsenal matches, the Emirates Stadium?

The culturally interested will always find great activities in London, and in March and April there will be quite a lot of great concerts coming up. Maybe Il Divo will be the highlight? Another popular poker club in London is the The Western Club. This might be the largest with seating for up to 300 players and covers an area of 11,000 sq. feet. In addition to poker you can also play Kalooki, Backgammon, Chess Bridge, Snooker and Pool at The Western Club, and besides playing they also have a restaurant and a bar at the place.
