Tower Bridge is one of the most beautiful bridges in all of Europe, and it is one of the main symbols of London. It is located next to the Tower of London, but historically they are not really connected. The construction of the bridge started in 1886 and it lasted for 8 years.
The bridge is a “double bridge”, with a lower and an upper part. The lower part can be opened so that boats can pass by, while the upper part is available for tourists on foot. The upper part is 43 metres up in the air. The bridge is built in Gothic style, and there is also an exhibition inside where you can see the history of the bridge.
