Normally people call Paris the city of lights. However the capital of England doesn’t stay behind. We don’t talk about the lights of the night even though those are great as well. In 2013 the Hayward Gallery in London host a fantastic light exhibition between 30 January 2013 and 28 April 2013.
The speed of the light is almost impossible to prevent. We need it in our daily life, and not just for eyesight, but for life, for good mode, for almost everything. This exhibition shows the light through spatial sculptures and installations. The strong, colors and duration of the light are very important parts of this exhibition. There were more than twenty artists, who worked on this show, which occurred in many places. Just some names: David Batchelor, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Olafur Eliasson, Dan Flavin, Ceal Floyer, Jenny Holzer, Ann Veronica Janssens, Anthony McCall, François Morellet, Iván Navarro, Katie Paterson and Conrad Shawcross.
If you go to London until 28 April, it could be a perfect program opportunity. Just imagine that you and your family, your friends or your love walk around this wonderful and famous city, see in live the sights what you have seen only in pictures, for example the London Eye, the Buckingham Palace, the famous changing of the guards, and after that as a little extra, visit the Hayward Gallery, which lies on the bank of Thames on a beautiful place and dive in the light. It would be unforgettable!
