Want to watch Euro 2024 in London with lots of other people?

There are many cities in Europe where they place large screens outdoor and whoever is around can sit in the grass and watch the different matches. That isn’t really so in London, meaning that you need to book a table in some sort of sports pub or bar or other outdoor club if you want the same experience. So, where should you go if you want to watch the European Championship in football with lots of other people in London?

There are lots of places you can go, and if you are satisfied with just anything, just do a quick search for sports bars in London. You will find them all around the city. But, do not forget that these are packed during big sports events, so it is wise to reserve a table before you arrive. Here you have the names of a couple of great sports pubs and bars in London.

Some great sports-bars and pubs in London.

  • Greenwood Victoria (170 Victoria St, London SW1E 5LB, United Kingdom)
  • Belushi’s by London Bridge (161 Borough High St, London SE1 1HR, United Kingdom)
  • Bar Kick Shoreditch (127 Shoreditch High St, London E1 6JE, United Kingdom)
  • Broadleaf (25 Old Broad St, London EC2N 1HN, United Kingdom)
  • MatchPint (several locations in London)

These are a few names that are great for those who want to watch sports live together with others at a sports bar or a pub in London. But, are there any bigger venues for those who want even more excitement and joy?

Places where you can watch the European Championship with hundreds of others.

If you want to watch the matches at big screens in big halls with hundreds of other people, then you should visit “Boxpark.” There are three “Boxparks” in London and in these you can watch the matches with hundreds of others. There are three of the kind in London and you need to book your ticket in advance if you want to have a guaranteed spot. All the places are sold out for England’s matches already, but if you are interested in watching other matches, like Spain vs Italy during the group stage or any other group stage match, you can buy tickets in advance that will guarantee you a spot.

It is possible to reserve a free ticket, but you will only be allowed entrance with such a ticket if it isn’t full by the time you arrive. In other words, if the pay-tickets are sold out, your free reservation ticket will no longer be enough.

No entrance is allowed for kids under 16, and the cheapest entrance tickets with reservation, including one drink, starts from £8.

The three boxparks in London are located at the following addresses:

  • Boxpark Shoreditch: 2 – 10
 Bethnal Green Road
, London
 E1 6GY.
  • Boxpark Croydon: 99 George St, Croydon, CR0 1LD
  • Boxpark Wembley: Olympic Way, Wembley, HA9 0JT

The last in the list is located in front of the famous Wembley Stadium, giving you a chance to see the fantastic stadium before/after you have seen the match you are interested in during the European Championship in football.

You can buy your ticket for the different matches at https://boxpark.co.uk/. There are different tickets for the different matches, so you cannot buy one ticket and stay around all day!

Can I watch the football matches during the European Championship in my hotel room?

If you want to watch the matches on your own in your hotel room with a cold drink or while ordering something from room service, that is also possible. BBC and ITV are responsible for broadcasting the championship in the United Kingdom, which means the streams are free and available on most TV’s you will find in all sorts of hotels and apartments in London.

You can stream the matches on the BBC and the ITV website if you have a computer, or you can watch the tournament online on TV channels worldwide. The Budapest Guide has a detailed guide describing how you can stream the entire championship live on Hungarian TV, so if you don’t mind the commentators speaking Hungarian, then you might find those instructions useful.

We have written instructions earlier on how you can watch BBC and ITV online outside the UK, so if that sounds interesting to you, then we can warmly recommend that article!

We are really tired of England being close to winning international tournaments, but then failing somewhere along the road. In 2021, they got all the way to the final, but they didn’t succeed winning the penalty shootout against Italy. This time they managed to calm us all down by losing against Iceland in the last friendly match before the tournament, but Harry Kane said that it might serve as a booster to the team, showing them how they need to fight like lions if they want to have a chance at winning the tournament.

What do you think? Can England go all the way to the top in Germany? The three group stage matches of England will be played at the following times:

  • June 16, 20:00 – England vs Serbia (this is gonna be a tough one).
  • June 20, 18:00 – England vs Denmark (yet another tough match).
  • June 25, 21:00 – England vs Slovenia (supposedly the easiest group stage match, but who knows)

We hope England will finish the group stage with nine points, which again will give them a great entrance to the knockout stage.

What else is there to say? Good luck!

Euro 2020: England – Scotland

England will play against Scotland at Wembley Stadium on the 18th of June during the European Championship in football. This will be the second match for both teams in the tournament, following Englands’ opening match against Croatia, and following Scotlands opening match against the Czech Republic. Both nations will be eager to win, but England is the big favorite.

The Wembley Stadium will be packed with more than 20,000 spectators eager to enjoy this awesome match during the European Championship in football. Most of them might cheer for England and for Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, and all the other English stars, but most importantly, they are there to enjoy a football match and to watch this fantastic event with their real eyes. Millions of people will sit at home in front of their TVs watching the match, while others will stream the European Championship in football online in front of their computer screens, on their tablet, or maybe on their mobile phone while working!

No matter how you will watch the match, this is going to be fantastic.

The match will start 20.00 local time in England, meaning that it will start at 21.00 for other countries in Central Europe. So, if you live in Germany, in the Netherlands, in Hungary, or in Poland, you might just sit down in front of your TV at 20.00, but you will still have to wait one hour before this match will actually start!

We hope you will enjoy the match and if you want to enjoy even more cool programs while in London, make sure to look around in our London guide for more information and inspiration!

Watch the FIFA World Cup 2018 in London

Looking for a place to watch the FIFA World Cup 2018 in London? Here are some suggestions!

At the moment, I do not know of any typical public screening of the FIFA World Cup in London. It would have been tremendous with a giant screen at the Trafalgar square, but that is not going to happen. The main reason is probably the fear of terrorist attacks. In cities such as Brussels and Paris, they have restricted and/or banned all sorts of public screenings. In the recent years, we have seen that any big outdoor event that draws a crowd, also brings forth the bad guys. For that reason, we have also seen that Christmas markets have turned into heavily guarded events, and so also with other outdoor concerts and events.

Watch the FIFA World Cup 2018 in London

If you want to watch the FIFA World Cup in London, our suggestion is therefore that you should visit a pub instead.

London is packed with pubs and sports pubs, so you do not really need any list. You can simply walk around, and you will find bars, pubs, and restaurants showing the World Cup everywhere. This might be true about all matches, but when England will play against Tunisia on June 18th, it will be especially true. The people of England love football, and now they have great expectations for their team. They have had that before as well (and ended up very disappointed), but hopefully, they will perform better this time.

If you look for a good sports bar in the central parts of London (Oxford street area), here are some suggestions:

  • Nordic Bar, nordicbar.com
  • Rileys Sports Bar Haymarket,  rileys.co.uk
  • Belushi’s, belushis.com
  • De Hems, dehemspub.co.uk
  • Studio 88 studio88.bar
  • The Blue Posts, theblueposts.co.uk
  • Brigadiers, brigadierslondon.com
  • The Windmill, windmillinternational.com

You can also watch the World Cup matches online on BBC/ITV, but it is much funnier to watch them together with local fans in a sports bar.

Have fun, enjoy the World Cup, and do not forget to cheer for England. Cheers!

Top football matches in London in September 2016

The Premier League is going strong and in September it is also time for the Premier League to start. Here are the best football matches to be played in London in September 2016.

There are quite a lot of clubs belonging to London, but the most famous London clubs are of course Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal. West Ham is also a big club, but they are still living in the shadows of the three big and popular London clubs. All of these teams will play in London in September 2016, but not all matches are as interesting as the other matches. Here we have selected a few highlights and if you are a football fan you will for sure find something to watch.

  • If you want to buy tickets for any of these matches, then you can do so at Viagogo.

The biggest of all matches

Manchester United vs Manchester City on September 10th

The biggest of all matches to be played in England in September 2016 will unfortunately not be played in London, but we have to mention it anyway. On September 10th it is time for Jose Mourinho and his disciples in Manchester United to play against Pep Guardiola and his disciples in Manchester City. This will be a fantastic match and people from all across the globe will  be looking forward to see this match. If you want to watch this and other Premier League matches online you can find more information here.

Tottenham vs Monaco on September 14th

It has been a while since Tottenham played in the Champions League, but now they are back in the most important club tournament in the world. Their opening match will be against Monaco, a team that recently won against PSG in French Ligue 1, something they also managed to do in the 2015-2016 Ligue 1 season. They have a strong squad, but is it strong enough to stop Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen at White Hart Lane? The London fans will be cheering with all their strength for their favorite team. Will you be among the fans?

Chelsea vs Liverpool on September 16th

It will be heated up atmosphere as Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool comes to Stamford Bridge on September 16th. Liverpool hasn’t been entirely successful so far this season, but that has also been due to bad luck and not scoring those necessary goals. In their last London match against Tottenham they ruled the match, but with a Spurs goal in the end of the second half the match still ended with a draw. As they travel to play against Chelsea on September 16th the opponent will be even harder, and we all wonder if it will be to hard a nut to crack for Jurgen Klopp?

Arsenal vs Chelsea on September 24th

If you want to be there at a real London derby, then the match between Arsenal and Chelsea on September 24th at the Emirates Stadium is the place to be. Who will win this London fight? Can Arsene Wenger and Arsenal stop Antonio Conte and his Chelsea team who have started the Premier League 2016-2017 season in such an impressing way? Arsenal has recently bought new players to strengthen their squad, but will these new players be enough to keep them in the top of the Premier League this season as well? Be there at Emirates Stadium on September 24th to find out!

Arsenal vs Basel on September 28th

You might think that this will be a boring match, but Basel is by far the best football team in Switzerland and it will not be an easy task for Arsenal at Emirates Stadium to beat the Swiss champions. If you want to watch the match on the Internet then it will be broadcasted on for example Fox Soccer 2 Go in the United States or you can watch it on SRF in Switzerland. We will of course cheer for Arsenal as a London team, but we have a feeling this might become a tougher match than most people would expect.

These were the football highlights that you can look forward to in London in September 2016. Will you be able to attend any of these matches? If you come to town make sure to visit London Eye and check out some attractions as well before match-start, and why not grab a traditional fish and chips for lunch on match-day?
