Are shops in London open during Easter?

I am coming to London for Easter and I therefore wonder if shops will be open on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday? And what about Easter Sunday and Monday?

Answer: Thank you for the question! Luckily shops in London are open on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday, though some shops might close a bit earlier than normal on the Saturday. Larger shops are all closed on the Sunday and also on Monday. Smaller shops and restaurants will remain open on Sunday and Monday, but in general for the big shoppers, Sunday and Monday should be used for other activities than shopping!

When will the Christmas tree from Norway at Trafalgar Square be lightened in 2013?

Thank you for the question. So far the date has not yet been published, but as soon as it is published we will get back with further information on the subject. However, based on the dates from the earlier years we can see a pattern and make a guess at the date when the Christmas tree at Trafalgar Square will be enlightened in 2013.

2013 – December 6th (Thursday)
2012 – December 1st (Thursday)
2011 – December 2nd (Thursday)

Based on these dates our guess is that the date when the Christmas tree will be lightened up in 2013 is
December 5th (Thursday), 18.00

However, this is only a guess and we will get back with more information when it is published (normally in September/October).

We are traveling from Stansted Airport to London in not to long. What is the price of a private taxi transfer from the airport to London city?

It is impossible to give an exact answer, but the official taxis waiting outside the airport normally take around £100 for such a travel, of course depending on your exact location in London. These prices are for 1-4 persons in a normal car. For exact fare we suggest you contact some sort of taxi company before arriving. One such company which you might consider using is 24×7 Stansted.

Where can I watch the Hillsong Conference in London live on the Internet?

Unfortunately I am not be there during the Hillsong Conference in London in 2013, but I was hoping to see it online somehow. Do you know how I can do that?

Tonight is the last evening of the conference, so it might be that you will not get this answer in time. There is no live streaming of the Hillsong conference in London live on the Internet, but there is one way that you might be able to see larger parts of the conference still. There is an Android and Apple Market application named Hillsong Church, and if you download that to your mobile phone or tablet you will be able to watch larger parts of the conference. We tested it ourselves earlier today and it is working. Therefore, head over to Google Play or to the Apple Store, download the Hillsong Church application and you should be able to follow the live stream tonight from your mobile device.

The conference is arranged in the O2 Arena in London, the most popular concert venue in the entire world!
